Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

We were hunting outside of Liberal, KS, which is about 20 min north of Beaver. A few pheasants, but no quail pointed or seen.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

May head up there as well in a few weeks. Used to just destroy the quail at Beaver. Send along any updates/reports please.

Bobo the Clown is funny hahaha. I wish it was a banner year!
I've been on the ground the past two weekends in OK and while the birds are better than last year, they are still mediocre at best in my opinion. I have seen larger coveys of 10-15 birds which is good but, I am only pushing 2 to 5 coveys a day hunting hard on foot and doing between 10-12 miles myself (dogs are doing 30 to 38 miles).
Beaver is absolutely gorgeous and has excellent quail habitat but it gets ABSOLUTELY pounded. Everybody and their brother knows about the place. I would not waste my time this year but, it is worth a trip in the future during a good year. Bring dog boots and extra dog boots. The Duster Inn is a great place to stay. But, you may get lucky also. A lot of guys literally do 300 yard loops and go back to the truck. Go hard and get back in there. It has paid off for me.
If I were you, I would be heading to Kansas, Nebraska, or New Mexico unless Beaver WMA is just that convenient for you. Tons of awesome public opportunity in those three states. You can catch me in those three states this year.
Good luck!

In dog beers, I've only had one.
