I'm looking at these binoculars as an upgrade to what I am currently using. I currently use Leupold Mojave 10x42 that I like a lot but I'm no longer hunting in the Piney Woods and need to see further more frequently. I have heard good things about Vortex products but I'm hoping someone has used this particular model. Thanks!

Unless you're going to tripod mount the binos, I'd consider a spotting scope. 15x is really hard to hand hold.

I've never used the model you're specifically asking about, but I will say that generally, higher power optics are less forgiving of manufacturing imperfects, and going with lower-cost, higher-power optics can sometimes be a recipe for mediocre or poor optical performance. Maybe Vortex did fine on these, but I've kind of gotten away from buying anything sub-Razor in the vortex lineup.

For what you're going, the spotting scope that I have (Razor 11-33) is really a nice, compact, lightweight, high-performing package for not a ton of money. Just a thought. (mine is not for sale)

I'm running the Vulture 15x56 on a Promaster XM525C tripod, going on a mule deer hunt this weekend and will report back. So far only used them at the range, but they are pretty solid for the money. I got mine "used" on eBay but in NIB condition for $370. I could see 6.5mm bullet holes at 300 yds and impacts on steel out to 1050 with ease. So far I'm pretty pleased.

Thanks! That is encouraging. I'm still looking at them - just haven't made up my mind about them yet. Happy to hear your feedback.

I would stay away from 15 power for carry binos. 10 is plenty IF you have good to great glass to look through.

^^Exactly this

We took my 10X Leica binocs and my 20-60X spotting scope to Brewster county, mule deer hunting the mountains and canyons. The 10X bincos got used 90% of the time.

You will greatly improve the glassing ability of any binocular by tripod mounting them.
