I returned to a spot where I have shot hogs the last three years because it is a small grove of persimmmon trees right next to a pond. I got set up with the wind in my face and waited. Conditions went from wet and a light mist with the occasional sprinkles to fog and heavy mist with occasional sprinkles. For thermal hunting it was about as bad as you can get. However, my simple hide site behind a tree seemed to work well as I watched a nice buck feed in front of me for about 20 minutes as close as about 30 yards. A bit later, I had this coyote come trotting it to my hunt area and used a bark to stop him which gave me time to get on my rifle. The Custom Reloads of Dallas Hornady ELD-M 130 gr bullet did an excellent job, entering the shoulder and traveling just over half way through the body and exiting the other side with a very nice, uniform oval exit hole about 1" in diameter.
