Impossible to make a reasonable estimate with nothing of known scale in the pic and the forced perspective of the photo.

It's clearly a very nice 8 point and has great symmetry.

If forced to guess....my first thought is mid 120's.

Congratulations.

Not enough mass to be in the 140’s. 125-130

Count me in with the low-mid 130s group. I got 133.5 but I could be missing something.

Thank You, that helps some.

Now can you give us the length of one of the G2's (throw us a bone here). wink

With the head covered up...we can't use ear length to gauge anything. We can't really get an accurate perspective when the hunter is 1/2 a tailgate behind the subject...that makes it difficult as well.

So with the newer information....I'm at 127-4/8ths.

Those guessing in the 140's should realize it takes a mighty big 8 point to get there. We will assume from the background this is a Hill Country/Central Texas buck?

Very impressive. Congratulations.

Do you ask all the bucks you see in the wild to hold a ruler for you?

Not sure I understand your meaning? 'Judging' the size of antlers in the field can be done pretty accurately if you can see them from at least two angles (preferably from the front and side). The reason for this is...you have the rest of the animal to look at for perspective. Also, knowing where the buck came from is helpful.

I have over 50 years experience hunting whitetails in South, Central and Eastern Texas. That doesn't make me an expert judging antler size, if fact..it is because I know perspectives can be misleading that I am asking questions. NOT questioning whether its a nice deer. Clearly it is...and I've said so in every post. So if you have something constructive to offer, lets hear it.

I imagine Don already knows the green score of the buck and is not asking for 'help', just seeing what people think. wink

Knowing the spread I took a little more time and I came up within a 1/2 inch of 130.

Did yal score him Don? or just showin him off? Is a good lookin buck either way.
