So I own one of these and just curious regarding auto loaders if anyone has a real technical opinion of one over the other or is it more personal choice.

Thanks

All guns are personal choice.
I'm a fan of benelli's though.

This will start a war and I have no desire to argue, but as a whole I believe self regulating gas operated shotguns are more reliable with a wider range of loads under a wider range of conditions. I choose Beretta.

For auto loading I love the inertia system on a benelli. It’s stupid simple to take apart and clean and the gun just fits me well. I really like my M1 super 90. Never had any issues with light loads either.

If you were talking a pretty O/U, then I’d say beretta. One day I will have one.

This is gonna be a Ford Vs Chevy.

Benelli

Mine is 15 years old and has cycled all types of ammo, light loads, heavy, etc..
3 gun barrel and bird barrel
never a single issue whatsoever, jam, nothing
and I am not one to clean them as often as they probably should be

While I haven't gone down there my brother has done the Argentina dove hunts where they shoot thousands of shells in a day..
They guides use Benellis.. he stopped taking his Browning over and over

Beretta. I initially chose a Beretta 391 Extrema for my duck gun because it fit me great. After hunting coast with a good friend who had an equally expensive Benelli, I was glad I chose Beretta. Not saying the Benelli isn’t good, but both of our guns took a dive in the salt water. We field stripped and allowed to air dry as we sat in the blind. Mine worked for the entire hunt, his locked up within 3 shots. We both got our limit within an hour using only my gun.

If most berettas had the capability to add a longer mag tube, this would be a much harder question. Since they don’t, I’m much more a Benelli fan.

Beretta. own 3. Have never had any issues. Goes bang every time I pull the trigger. Brother has Binelli. He likes it.

Currently shoot a Benelli SBE2. My last autoloader was a Winchester Super X2. I liked the SX2 better than the Benelli. Only went with SBE2 to get a lefty. My next one will be another gas gun.

I used to own a Benelli SBE...but I had problems with it breaking extractors and losing the grip cap...a gun that costs upwards of 1K should not have these types of issues...so I sold it and never looked back.

I regularly use my Beretta 303's, 390's and 391...and they are reliable and durable tools...form my money, Beretta can't be beat...!

Never owned a Benelli but my Berettas have been through hell and still run like tops. I know the SB3 is getting some negative reviews due to the design of the stock causing it to shoot high. Really, it comes down to fit.

I’ve been running an M1 Super 90 for a bunch of years in 3 gun. Between practice and matches it has several thousand rounds through it and I’m just now having feeding issues. I’m pretty sure it’s the lifter but it’s been a great shotgun.

I own and have had issues with both. My Montefeltro went full auto at the clays range. Benelli looked it over and found debri in the trigger system. Clean it out and no problems since. My Beretta AL391 20 gauge has chronic jamming problems (failure to eject, stove piping, etc.). I've tried a number of fixes and none seem to work well. It now sits in my safe.

Get the best of both worlds and buy a Franchi, you get the Beretta bore size and an inertia system like the Benelli

I had a shoulder injury that makes even a little recoil painful. Remington 1100's were about the softest recoil I could find but heavy so I tried a Beretta A400 XPlor in 20 gauge and even though it is much lighter than the 1100, felt recoil is equal to or maybe even less than the heavy 1100. I shot a Benelli one time and it hurt my bad shoulder so that was it for me and inertia guns. I can shoot that Beretta all day, no kick whatsoever.

Look at the guys who shoot guns for a living, autos, and you can see which type of gun is used the most.

Have both... SBEII for my duck gun and an A400 for sporting clays.

The SBEII just fits me better... I point it and shoot it better. But it's seen upwards of a couple thousand rounds and it needs a good wipe-down in-between hunts. It is as someone else said stupid simple. It's been underwater and I don't mind using it as a tool.

The A400 cycles better and is much easier on my busted up shoulder... but I just point it as well (probably would do better if I had the stock fitted).

Next duck gun will be a Fabarm Waterfowler (gas system but raised rib like my SBEII).

I will also put a plug in for the Benelli M2. My son shoots that in 20 gauge and it might be my favorite one.

I think it comes down to which shoulders better.
