So, I am a broad brim hat guy. I don't wear ball caps. Due to a history of Melanoma skin cancer in my family, I especially need to wear broad brim hats when outdoors, like when I am dove hunting. So ear muff style hearing protection does not work for me because it cannot go over the top of my hat and if I put strap behind my head they just fall down. So I have to use earplugs. But earplugs cut off my hearing, which is irritating and almost cost me my life because I walked right over a rattlesnake that was in full strike coil and sounding off. My buddy saw it and called out and I was able to shoot it at my feet before it struck. So I need to hear, but I also need hearing protection. I have some Howard Leight shooting muffs that work great, but as I said, they can't go over my hat.
So, what I need it noise-canceling shooting earbuds, that operate like my Howard Leight shooting muffs, but are earbuds instead. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Have you tried them out? Did they work?

Walker game has ear buds that work good if you can get a good fit.
I have seen some advertisements and excellent reviews on some customized hearing aid type buds that an audiologist makes a mold of your ear and then they make a suppressor for the ears with that. Problem is they cost around 2k-3k.
The walker game ones are around 200

There are also ear phones that have a hard neck wrap around with wired ear buds that go up into the ear. I have a pair of Bose noise reducing headphones with that design I happened to wear one night hog hunting. Gun shots with those on were very quiet, was quite impressed. However they aren’t designed to be for loud noises like gun shots so didn’t want to use them in that way all the time for fear of breaking them.
I know walker game has a set that have a similar design.

Okay. Thanks. I thought this would have been a no brainer and that would be a lot of them, but guess they are hard to make.

This... Pro EarsThey work, they are rechargeable (don't get the hearing aid battery ones) and you won't spend $200+ on them

I'm going to be getting a pair of these. You have to be careful with cheap electronic plugs bc they don't have sense of direction. Meaning you could of heard that rattlesnake, but have no idea where it was coming from. These have sense of direction, and I think they'll be well worth the price, especially sense we only get hearing once. https://www.soundgearhearing.com/collections/custom-fit

Those custom fit Soundgear are nice if they fit your budget but like you I wanted something more economical. I have used the cheaper Soundgear recommended and sold on Long Range Hunting forum for two years now and they do very well. I wore them all last week while elk hunting since I was using a Muzzle Brake short barreled rifle and they worked perfectly and batteries lasted all week. This maybe the version to look at. https://www.soundgearhearing.com/collections/instant-fit

What sucks is that there's really no reviews on good hearing protection to review. It'd be awesome if I had the chump change to get both brands and compare them.

LOL! While that's a valid statement, how much is your hearing worth. Sure, 50 cent foamies work, but you don't get the amplification, can't hear ducks wings, hear that pig squeal in the distance, etc. You ask almost anyone with tinnitus or regular hearing problems and they'll say that custom fit hearing protection is priceless.
