Used electrical tape for 40 years from Alaska to Africa and in between. I’m in a deer blind and have tape on my barrel, just habit.
Thanks, Billy

I use 1.5 inch blue painters tape. I'm a contractor and I always have rolls of it in my truck. Yep - been doing this for years. My rifle and shotgun that are at "ready" here in the house, have blue tape on the muzzle. Marc
A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

What about if your rifle has a muzzle brake? You'll send chunks of electrical tape into the next county.

Just wanted to follow up on my earlier post, didn't tape my muzzle on saturday as I didn't have a roll with me. When my son and I were walking to the stand saturday evening he stumbled and stuck the muzzel about 2 inches in the mud. Of course I didn't have a cleaning rod with me either so two hour round trip to to get cleaning supplies as I was too lazy to pack a roll of tape.

It doesn't affect anything. Brother shoots a .338 Win Mag with a break and the only part of the tape that is removed is over the barrel where the bullet passes out. And as you aren't fully covering the break, it works as it is supposed to. -TJ

Never heard of a finger cot but it looks like it will be a great conversation started for my son and I. He will need to know how to do that at some point in his life, not just on his rifle but also on his gun. Have none of you seen The Big Red One...
