I know it’s last min... the land I have leased is under contract and I no longer have my honey hole.

If anyone needs to add a man for the season let me know. Greatly appreciate you all!

Back when I hunted private, I made sure I had 2 seasons locked up at a time with my land owner. As soon as one season was over, I put deposit down for another season locking up another 2 seasons. If someone wanted to lease out from under me, they would have to put a deposit down for 3 seasons out, which most are not willing to do.

If you are just now trying to pay your land owner for this season, I don’t blame him one bit leasing to someone else. Good luck.

That's kind of a prick response....I took that whoever he was leasing from SOLD the property, not leased to someone else.

huntinraider,

i don't have any help for you unfortunately...anything that available now is probably not very good. I know some guides that will fit you into groups or possibly take 1-2 guys. May spend your lease money going the guided route this year?

Or maybe I made an informative post and you are thin skinned and made a prick response? Whether land owner did lease or sold contract, if you got a “honey hole”, lock it up for 2 seasons. Even if sold, you got a contract new land owner would need to let you hunt it that season and would most likely be part of his contract with seller.

guy... any landowner with any sort of brain would never sign a lease with someone without having the rights to terminate the hunting lease in the event of a sale of the property. Maybe you didn’t have that situation in your case but I imagine the OP did.

Another tip, give land owner honey baked ham every Christmas, and he wouldn’t do such a thing. Hope you guys are taking notes, I normally charge for this type information.

Is it just you looking for a spot? Potentially have something available in Fannin County, but would prefer 1 group of 3-4. Within an hour from Dallas.
