I made use of a very old Victor long spring trap, some nicely figured bocote and brass pins.

nice work. when i was a kid my dad made some trap spring patch knives for my brother and I. always thought they were cool.

This winter, the first bobcat I trap, is going to be skinned with a knife I made from a trap spring. The thought of it just seems very satisfying to me.

During the mountain men fur trade era, many trap spring knives were made from necessity. The trappers didn't always have access to a blacksmith shop or trade knives, but they did always have long spring traps and basic metallurgy skills.

up My dad bought 5 or 6 and gave them to different people. I have the one he gave me and the one he had made for himself. Very nice little knives
