Brown County, just West of May, TX, shooting my trusty 700 Remington 30.06. Draw for stands Friday night over fire pit grilled steaks and a few "hydraulic pork-chops". Safe and successful hunting to all! Sudz n Thudz. Sounds like y'all have a great plan. Post pics of your weekend, if you don't mind. We need some fresh blood around here.

Throckmorton county in a pop up blind. Going to use my 444 Marlin pushing 240 gr. Cast or 300 gr. jacketed HP's. I love me some 444! I have the Marlin "P" and "T"! A Savage 170? Outstanding! Man, I haven't seen one of those in YEARS...go get 'em! I have both of the "Pump Brothers", the 30-30 Win and 35 Rem! Some good ole hunt'n guns. Very accurate! A lot of cool guns being mentioned... 88, 99s, and others!

I’ll be in Runnels county just south of Ballinger TX. On Friday afternoon I’ll be in my pop up with my Hoyt then Saturday morning I’ll be in a tower blind right behind it with either a Remington 700 5R in .308 or a Kimber in 22-250. Already have the little buddy heater in the tower blind.

Sam Houston National Wilderness Area northeast of New Waverly(Walker Co) fighting for a spot among the crowd on opening weekend. I'll be using my Ruger M77 .243. I haven't hunted for over 30 years, so hopefully all goes well this year hunting on public lands. I will try to win a drawing next year, and I will be looking into leases.
Retired!

Hamilton county, sitting in a Blind with my Howa 300 WM. I've got some options at a couple long shots so early on I take the 300. After the rut wears down or I just simply switch to doe hunting i'll stick with my Howa 243
You have to remember, they might not be drinking as much as we are.

Hope to be on my place outside of Huntsville (Walker County), holding my Marlin big loop stainless 45/70 with my Marlin 30-30 as my back up rifle. There's just something about the lever guns. Hoping to get a chance to use the S&W model 69 .44 magnum revolver this year. There's just something about those revolvers too.

Safe and successful hunting to all! I'll be in Brown Co too, between May and Rising Star. Haven't decided on the rifle yet. It will be a winchester of some flavor. I have a couple to choose from. Probably either my .25 WSSM or my .30-30 lever. It's our first year on this place so I'm anxious to see what step out. We've got pics of some decent bucks and a big herd of pigs.

Northern Mills County...and deer...lol...JK..Either a Savage 7mm-08 or a Bergara .300WM. I miss Mills County. I grew up in Austin, but we (Dad and Mom) owned 800 acres in Goldthwaite. Lots of deer, good number of varmints, a Bazillion Turkey. Decent number of quail (back then). No Feral Hogs at that time (thank goodness). Always had a good time and successful hunts there. Hated it when that property was sold. Good luck to you.
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!
