Shot this ladder today at 400yds 9 rounds of H1000 in 0.5gr inctrements. 175gs Nosler Accubond LR I think the small ring is 5 or 6 inches Pretty promising.

4, 5, 6 is your node.
5 is probably "the one"

5 is probably "the one" Why would you include 4 in the node? I would have said a node at 5 and six, and another ay 7 and 8.

The best node is the one where three charges, in line, that had little to no vertical dispersion. That's 4, 5, 6.

Any velocity data to go with it?
Going on vertical dispersion, 4, 5, and 6 is little different than 1, 2, and 3 or 7, 8, and 9
If you take the horizontal out of it 2 and 3 would be or nearly be a ragged hole, same can be said for 5-6 and 7-8. Id be hesitant on calling any of it much of anything, but I don't know anything

Savage 110 Flatback Brux 27” long 1 in 8” twist Manners stock Gene Williams put her all together, no barrel nut, chamber/thread/bed
Taking her back out Monday to fine tune.
No velocity data as the club’s Labradar was unavailable.

Interesting I had never seen a savage built without a nut.
Is there suppose to be a level of improvement using a shouldered barrel over the nut? or just aesthetic?

The nut is for
A. Easier for Savage to make barrels and set their headspace to their actions. B. Nice feature for the DIY guy that wants a switch barrel rifle.
Going to a gunsmith to have him thread and chamber a barrel blank, he could leave the nut, or not. Looks better to not.

Yep it makes a lot of sense to me. I was just wondering if their was a belief that without nut was more consistant/accurate or not.
