Any experts, true experts on here?
I am pretty good with it, but having trouble here.
I have a spreadsheet with 150 questions, on about 9 tabs. I'd like to use the answers in the next column, to auto fill a word document to create a report.
I've done mail merges in the past, but having trouble getting from tab to tab, creating the links in the original document.
Is there a better way?
Do you or someone you know ever do this for others? I'd pay a few bucks to help with this project. I have to recreate this report with different data about 100 times in the next 8 moonths.
Feel free to discuss on here or us Messages.

If you don’t get the help you need, I can put you in touch with my youngest daughter. She’s a real pro with excel. She could likely help you.
I used to be pretty good with Excel, but when I’d tell her what I had managed to do, she’d laugh and call me a beginner. I’m no beginner, but she’s out of my league. And she’s a smart a—.

What’s the trigger for action? Exact match or contains?are the answers always the same?
Why do you want it to create a word document? Why would you not create the text in excel to keep it within one program?

Each different client group will have different answers during interviews and observations. I want to create the excel sheet so that I can phrase their answers in a way that it competes a sentence in the report. Some of it is basic info, names , addresses, etc, some are more detailed questions; some can even fill in as bulleted lists into the report. The report has to be in Word for uploading into a larger government data base.

There is probably a more elegant solution but you could do it with the concatenate function...
So if you said state your name and top three skills.
You can write a formula that said concatenate(“my name is “, cell with name, “and my top three skills are “, cell references)
You would get a sentence that read my name is bob and my top three skills are walking, talking, and chewing gum.
I would than just copy that into word either via a simple macro or manually. Run a spelling/grammar check and it should be relatively clean.
I would say that better you do at writing your survey to ensure all things look the same the better it will be. If you asked for top three skills I would provide three boxes as opposed to just one. With one formatting/grammar will be different between everyone

SOunds good.
I can do it in a mail merge document, but it only works off columns, so the spreadsheet is way awkward.
Wish there was a way to change the parameters of the data document... other than a second tab with each cell referencing the other tab but horizontally.

You can mail merge off of a symbol if it’s standardized. You may need to route though access depending on your windows settings Not sure what you mean by change the parameters of the data document.

If you need finite addressability with granular control then just write a VBA macro
Don't talk to me about my signature. Don't talk to me about your signature. I've disabled my ability to view signatures. Would that I could, I'd disable your ability to view them too. And this is my signature.

I got some Asian friends from college that can do some amazing things with standard programs. I can get you in touch with them. Cost you a couple pounds of noodles.
