I was thinking about trying it out. I've never done anything aside from hog trapping, which I realize is very different. I just figured I could use another hobby I could get some use out of. Anyone tried it at Sam Houston? Any tips?

Please remember that guys run dogs in the Sam. Not legal for deer or hogs, but dogs are legal to be run for squirrel, rabbit, dove, duck, woodcock, etc. I hope guys aren't setting traps in the Sam that might maim a dog.

I have not trapped hogs on Sam. Just curious about other animals.

Unfortunately, a dog can get caught in something set for a coyote. But trapping is legal in SHNF as well. Of course precautions are taken to try and make sure someones dog doesn't get trapped.
