Lee county and most likely taking my Savage 99e lever action 243 that I’ve hunted with since the 80’s, had a nice 12 point last weekend at 40 yards with my bow but didn’t feel good about the shot so am hoping he shows up again.

Saturday in Plano at my nephews rehearsal dinner. Sunday in a cow pasture for his wedding. Nobody gets married in a church anymore, its called a wedding venue. Nobody teaches their kids that when you get married its after hunting season. Azz whipping
Grizz, that's a heck of a buck. Pics after you tag him.

I'll be right here on the place in Coleman County.
Just like any other day, what I walk out of the house with will be a function of how I'm feeling. 6mm/.223 on the wee end. .250 Savage is most likely. 7x57 is also a possibility.
I'm working on a buddy's Beretta/Sako .222 right now. Who knows? It might get taken for a stroll "just because".
Good luck everyone!

I don't know where I will be. may be at home in bed for all I know. Kids have commitments that day but I think we will make it out sunday.
This is the time of the year where there is no telling where I will be at any given time so im going to take the .22 out of the truck and replace it with the Ruger M77 stainless chambered in .22-250. Loaded with 55 grain fusion ammo it makes an acceptable deer gun when used within its limitations
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Tower stand in Mills county. Two 7MM.08’s....wife shoots one too. We hunt together but carry separate guns. I have a Browning A bolt medallion and she has the same in a micro version. Then on to Hamilton county for grandma’s breakfast after the morning hunt. Drop the wife off back at home in Comanche County before returning to Mills county for the afternoon hunt. Wife is attending a wedding with her mom or she’d be with me all day. That’s the summary of my deer season. Comanche, Mills, & Hamilton counties in a big loop on miscellaneous dirt roads so I don’t get bored with the same scenery twice a day all season. Ya know there’s many worse places to be than here in God’s country

Out in the pasture behind my house here in southern DeWitt County. Tower blind with Savage 170 chambered in 30-30 Win spitting out a home cast bullet. I'd like to shoot the 8pt on the left in the picture, he is seven years old.

I will be at home, guarding my house, with a Benelli M2 Tactical, and Sig P226 (imagine that). I never go hunting anymore, just stay at home and work from home.

Mills County, one of three tripods, Tikka CTR 6.5 for opening morning.
This is going to be one of the coldest openers in my memory, about 30-35 degrees. I can't remember the last one where I wasn't nearly sweating.
