So had this buck last year in camera and he back this year. BUT now he only has a spike on one side this year. I would think he’s legal to cull, what do y’all think?

Spike on one side, yes legal. Can only have 1 total tine on one side. We had one like him that actually had 3 tines growing down his head you couldn't see like a trident but into the fur. He got shot.

Unbranched antler = an antler having no more than one point.
AR county - buck must have at least one unbranched antler or both antlers branched and an inside antler spread of 13" or more.

If he is unbranched on one side.
Looks like sausage to me.

my question is if his brow tine on that slick side throws off his being a spike?

What I'm seeing in that pic is clearly a branched antler so he would fall under the 13" rule.

The last picture is from a previous year, if that's what you see as a branched antler.
Pics aren't the best, the OP would have to say whether the buck has more than one legal point on the side in question.

There is no mention or use of the word " spike " in AR rules & regulations.
Hasn't been for many years.

An Unbranched antler has only one legal point. The tip of the main beam is a point, a brow tine or any other hardened protrusion extending from the main beam 1" or more is also considered a point.

The outdoor annual covers this.

Yeah, the last picture is the one I was looking at. Zooming in on the next one up he looks legal.

He’s unbranched

But if I were to bet, yes he’s 13”

I’d say he’s legal, barely

If the buck has at least one unbranched antler there is no minimum or maximum width requirement.

The first two pics are this year.
I can't tell for certain from the first 2 pics that are from this year, if he's branched or unbranched. This years antlers.

The third pic is from a previous year, yes, in that picture that buck is branched. A previous years antlers.

Turn up the power on you scope and look carefully. As long as all that trash from the previous year is gone and there is just the one spike sticking out, you are good to go. If there is a small brow tine or anything, he is branched.
