Razor and Viper are two different animals. Razor is top of the line, Viper is second.
And yes, the Viper rifle scopes will lose clarity, especially at 24X.

UPDATE: Went with the Meopta Meostar S2. Got it brand new, with 20-70x eyepiece for $1,800. Did some side by side comparisons and the optical clarity was better than most others including Vortex. The Vortex is still a nice unit for sure though. Only the very high end Swaraski was more desirable but well out of my reach. The only thing I'm missing out on is a mil reticle; but I wouldn't be surprised if Meopta eventually adds a reticle eyepiece to their line up...or Nightforce...which is the literally same scope.
