Going to the airshow this weekend at the Executive Airport and am wondering if those areas would be a good place to stay the night at a hotel. Both places I found are right on I-20.

No on either. East Arlington and east of there is no good until you go about 50 miles east. Southwest Arlington will be your best bet around there.

The others I'm looking at are in Downtown off of Elm, I-35/I-20 in Desoto, and near the Baylor med school.
I really appreciate the help. The wife is pregnant and I don't want her to have to deal with any riff raff.

Stay up in Dallas if possible. Downtown is fine once in hotel. Who knows what they charge to park now though. $$$

Do you mean Baylor U Medical Hospital? I wouldn’t stay around there either but it’s better than all your other choices as long as you park close and go inside. Southwest Arlington, along I-20, is only about 5-7 minutes from Grand Prairie and much better.

I echo these comments.
South Arlington, 360 and I 20 to the west. Midlothian to the southwest Red Oak to the south.
Drive in Hwy 67, exit Hampton, North to the airport. Come out same way. Do not venture.
Mostly working folks, but trouble can found just a few blocks away. Especially on the weekend.
If it was me, with a pregnant wfe, i would rethink the trip. Outside the airport, the nearest clean restroom is Beltine and 35 in Desoto.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I 20 between Cooper and Collins should be a good home base. Plenty of retail and places to eat. Just remember i20 to 67. 67 to Hampton. In and out during the daylight.

Personally, I’d go a bit further west along 20. Green Oaks area. Do not go further west than Lake Arlington. So between Little Rd and Cooper along I-20! I’m not aware of any hotels next to the airport but I do know, just east of there is Grand Prairie.

I'd drive south to Midlothian to the Marriott.
It's not far and much better.

Pack your weapon and don't worry about it. Better yet give one to the Lady and show Her how to use it. Double whammy. Can't run around scared all your life.

I figure this said in fun, but nothing funny about that neighrborhood. It is not about being scared as it is not doing stupid. There was a couple killed in parking in the apartments directly across from the airport, I had a tech mugged and robbed at Hampton and Kiest, and I had to bully my way out of the Wendy's at Hamton and Illinois. Just no need to expose yourself to trouble.

Get a decent hotel on the north side of I-20 between Cooper and Collins. There's a few in there with all those restaurants, I live in S. Grand Prairie and know the area.
