As most of you know when a sounder of hogs are spooked , they start running. My question is has anyone seen any data as to how far they will run before they settle down. We all have seen deer spook and run a couple hundred yds then stop. Thanks Daniel

No data just a hunch. They run until they feel safe. If heavy cover is 100 yds away then they might stop at that. If heavy cover is 1/2 mile away then they likely will run the half mile.

This.
I'll also add it depends on how bad they've spooked. Bad spook = no stop at tree line/brush line and keep hauling. Moderate spook they'll often pause once in the tree line. look for a few seconds, and continue running/trotting. Light spook and they'll often go to cover and hang out, and come back if everything seems cool...or they'll move off. In listening on bad spooks, they'll go 100+ yards into cover before settling down.

I've watched them go 15-20 yards into cover only to emerge 2 minutes later. I've also seen them take off across a pasture and keep going until they're out of sight.
