That feeder sits very low to the ground. Is it possible the jumped and grabbed the Varmint cage? I know they’re not considered good jumpers, but it would appear they wouldn’t have to jump far to grab the cage.

Yep feeder basket to close to the ground. PVC legs are more effective when they are more vertical/straight up and down.

If I remember correctly you're pretty far west. Terrell County maybe??? If you're lucky maybe a black bear will come along "shortly" and put that feeder out of it's misery

I am far west in Val Verde County and I have had a black bear on my ranch a couple years back. Somewhere I have a picture of him sitting on a water trough. He had an ear tag and escaped from a wildlife refuge near the ranch...Game Wardens trapped him and took him home. FWIW, he did not disturb any of my feeders.

As an added item, the PVC legs worked perfectly when they were new. The relentless sun removes the slick, shiny surface and makes it easier for the coons to get a grip with their claws.
The PVC still rotates and throws their [censored] off if they do not have a firm grip.

I agree with these quotes. Coons can easily reach up to grab the varmint cage or just jump that short of distance to pull themselves up onto the feeder. PVC is doing nothing at all with the feeder that low.
