Got mine yesterday! They give me the one for old folks since I'm almost 65 and it felt like my arm was going to fall off last night but it's fine today.

Got mine at HEB with a one stop shopping trip at the end of September.

I don't get the flu shot & I'm around many people w/the flu every year. I got the shot once about 6 years ago when I worked part time in the ER. Besides that, I haven't got the shot in probably 15 years & have gotten the flu once. It was the year I got the shot. No thanks.

Here's the breakdown on the 2019 shot - The composition of the 2019-2020 flu shot will be slightly different from last season's flu shot. Specifically, there will be a different strain of the H1N1 virus and a different strain of the H2N3 virus in this season's flu shot, compared with last season's shot. According to the CDC, the 2019-2020 trivalent flu shot will contain the following strains of the flu virus:
A/Brisbane/02/2018 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus — This is the H1N1 component that is different from last year's flu shot. A/Kansas/14/2017 (H3N2)-like virus — This is the H3N2 component that is different from last year's flu shot. B/Colorado/06/2017-like (Victoria lineage) virus — This is the influenza B strain component that is the same as last year's shot. The 2019-2020 quadrivalent vaccine will also contain a second influenza B strain called "B/Phuket/3073/2013-like (Yamagata lineage) virus," which was also included in last season's quadrivalent vaccine.

I took one but according to the CDC this years shot is a complete miss for the strain of flu that has already started. The best defense for us retired folks is to just stay away from other people as much as possible.

Work (Hospital) requires all employees get a flu shot. But the #1 way to avoid it is to use hand sanitizer. I probably use two bottles a week. This is why I hate to shop grocery stores during flu season.
