Thinking about getting one and looking for a one-stop place(fingerprints, etc..) to purchase in the metroplex. Nice selection and knowledgeable staff would be a bonus, as I'll need help on deciding exactly which one to purchase. There's a place in San Angelo, but rarely go that direction. Thanks for any help.

use silencershop and then find your preferred FFL with a kiosk on their website

Rifle Gear Plano, Windhaven Rd & Tollway

1. pick out can
2. finger print
3. photo
4. sign form
5. Pay for it all, Suppressor, tax stamp, admin fee (i think its $25.00)

wait....wait....wait some more....they will call you when the tax stamp is approved and back. You go pick stamp and can up and fill out the paper work just as you would buying a gun.

They have done 2 for me, no hiccups at all. Easy Peasey Ask for Mike, he's great !!!

Search Silencer Shop on Youtube and you can watch a video of the process. Getting a used trailer registered is more complicated than buying a can at a Silencer Shop kiosk.

There are a lot of knowledgable people on this site that can give you some recommendations based on what you want to do with it. If you go to a particular place, you'll likely be steered to what they have in stock.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. To give a little more info on my situation:

This will be my first suppressor. I plan to use it on my ar 15 and .223 bolt gun. I've never even shot a suppressed rifle and always seem to put the whole process off..Needless to say, I'm uneducated on the whole process.

I don't even know name brands or companies of any suppressors. The main reason I was looking to go somewhere they stock is so I could see one in person and hopefully learn for future reference. I also live near PK, so I'm going to have to drive a ways to a FFL. Anyway, I appreciate all the help and will take any suggestions of specific suppressors to look at for my situation. My budget is probably around $600.

THIS. I hadn't obtained a suppressor primarily because of the hassle and wait. In June I was entered by default into a raffle at Rifle Gear when I purchased a CZ Scorpion Evo. I won a CZ .22 rifle w/scope and a Silencerco Sparrow suppressor. I did the paperwork and stuff the end of June expecting a 1 year or longer wait, but other than the tax stamp it was free so WTH...well it came in last week. And now I want one for my 9mm, and one for my .30 caliber, and one for 5.56 and one for .45 and one for....

Don't spend the money on a .223 can. Get a 30 caliber rated to 300 Win Mag and it will do just as good a job on your .223 and many other calibers in between.

I have a Sandman TI and I love it. That being said, most of your .223/5.56 barrels will be threaded 1/2"-28 and your .24-30 cal barrels will be threaded 5/8"-24. The Sandman Ti is a direct thread for 5/8"-24.

For your first can, you really can't go wrong with a Silencer Co. Harvester. It is a direct thread, super light, suppressor that you can change the attachments from 1/2"-24 direct thread, to 5/8-24 direct thread to the ASR quick detach with relative ease.

The $600 budget is tight considering $200 of it will have to go towards the tax stamp. Hopefully, that is $600 plus the $200 tax stamp. If not, I think you may be SOL. If it doesn't include the tax stamp then the Harvester is only one that I think is in your budget.

I bought a Hybrid 46. It will do everything I need it to but it is a little big and bulky at times. It works though and is hearing safe on a 16" AR 10

I think the YHM Phantom is in the $400s and it's a pretty decent 30 cal can that is FA rated.

One of my cans is a Harvester. It is a very good suppressor for the money. It is a little long with the brake on it but it is light and I honestly don't notice it much on my rifle. It lives on my 20" .308 Model 70.

What I have learned about suppressors is you need to pay close attention to weight and length for hunting purposes. I have a dead air sandman L and while I love it, its long and HEAVY.
