Finally pulled this one out of the closet to mount a scope on it. This mount setup was on it when i bought the rifle(used) https://flic.kr/p/2hz9y3i

That's an easy fix. Back out those base screws first. Then put those rings and bases in your dominant hand. Lean back just a little. Then see if you can hit the bottom trash can with them.
Those rings and bases are garbage and will eventually fail even if you could line up the rings.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

The whole point of those bases/rigns is to be able to fix that issue.
Many do not like them and have pointed out their weaknesses. I own 4 rifles using them that range from 18-35 years old with never an issue. I probably wont replace them till I have an issue.
That said I will not buy any more of them.
They are likely not alined because they adjustment isn't set centered. I have become a fan of Talley rings would look for a set of them and then you don't need a base.

Possom, is that the largest remaining collection of VHS tapes to the side of the TV? No sir, dad's... Had to upgrade, those new tv's make VHS look grainy
