Just started dove hunting this year. Had a couple of slow days opening weekend and thinking about going out tonight.

Hunting over a cut cornfield in the Valley View area west of 35.

How will the rain and the cold front impact activity tonight?

Thanks for any info.

Hard to forecast for your particular location...as there are no absolutes.

But the cold front/rain can have the following effect on the doves:

New birds show up / Old birds depart

No new birds / Old birds depart

etc...etc...etc...

Best way is to go with high hopes and enjoy the time in the outdoors...if the birds are there, then its a win-win

You might check out the poll in this section. Very good info from knowledgeable hunters and guides

The answer was it impacted hunting pretty significantly. Didn't see a single dove last night. :-(
