anyone do this? I put a few pair of black latex gloves in my pack a few days ago. Not having ready access to water in a lot of places has made me re-think using gloves to clean game, which I used to think was sissy but now may have some merit.

I always use gloves these days. My hands are always beat up, so I try to keep blood from game off them.

We keep them handy at the cleaning station, the wife picks them up at a medical supply. The problem is getting them in big sizes, doctors must have small hands.
I do not use them as I should, but it is cheap insurance.

We use anti cut gloves with latex gloves on top of them. The anti cut gloves do wonders for protecting your hands while cleaning and processing game and the latex gloves keep them clean as well as your hands. I recommend using that combination 100%. It is well worth it.

I never used to but I have for the past several years. I file it in the "what does it hurt" category.

Why take the risk? You can also get those sleeves vets use to palpate.

I always have 2 pair of blue latex gloves in my pack. Makes cleanup a bit easier.

If I am hunting solo in an area with an above average concentration of predators (black bear and/or mountain lion), I also bring a fillet glove for my non-cutting hand. Due to the reduced risk of cutting myself, I can field dress and debone the animal faster. Probably being overly paranoid, but it works for me.

I use the black ones you can get them at Tractor Supply. Always have them in my pack or in the truck.

I usually put on a pair of plastic palpating sleeves and a pair of latex over the hands. Keeps the clothes clean and if it is cold you can keep the coat on and not worry about getting the sleeves bloody.

I never did until 2 years ago. Guy gave me some while cleaning game in the winter because he said my hands would stay warmer. They did, and now I wear them almost every time I clean large game or skinning fur bearers. Just cleanup is easier, and don’t lose enough dexterity to be a nuisance.

Never for birds or small game though. Maybe that’ll change with time too.

Did not for years, but after my trip through the Oncology department, one of the Doctors recommended I wear gloves. Seems my immune system is not what it used to be.

I have for years. Seems like the meal is always ready when the cleaning is done. It's nice to take the gloves off and eat!

I use them for hogs ever since a friend got brucellosis from cleaning a pig and occasionally will use them for deer. I also use them if I am field dressing to help keep hands clean.
