Saw countless pigs. None in bow range acorns dropping very heavily almost as heavy as sweat from my bald head. Next time I go in there I'll set up closer to the thick cover. Hogs did not want to get out in the oak flat as it's a bit more open. No deer sited till I was driving off in the truck at last light.
Next weekend gonna feel much better. Wind will different so won't be back there.

Been posting bout WMA can be a hot spot for hog hunts for years... most have me on thar ignorance list... The 24-7-365 hunting preasure on surounding private land vs limited time & no tight hunts NV, Thermal & lights at feeders, few have baiting.. Never had problems finding hogs work begins getting em out... back packing worked best for me... Affordable hog hunts just not for the execative hunter...

With the wind change I looked at some new areas I'd been staring at on, onx. Went in to the first area Saturday morning, these spots are only accessible via boat so I wasn't worried about boogering up someone's hunt. Walked about a mile and a half by the time I got back to the boat. Never saw anything that I got excited about. Very few tracks etc. Did find a bang up duck hunting slew though. Headed to another place I've stared at for years on maps. Sure enough poke my head out in a field and.there is a bachelor group hanging out. One definitely legal buck ruled the pack 2 smaller bucks I doubt were legal. Then I saw a group of doe further up the field. I backed out and headed back to camp with a plan. Weather kind of messed up my plan as the wind was supposed to flip from North to south mid morning and it never did. So I had to really go way out of the way then I got into the field and Everytime I checked the wind it was going another direction. Finally just picked a tree and crossed my fingers. Ended up seeing 2 Doe and 2 bucks and a group of pigs. Nothing busted me just everything was a bit out of range. Won't be back for a few weeks.

part of hunting... finding fresh sign, dropping a at food source, oak trees, tracks, scrapes, & such... Pudding a plan tagether... Severall times have seen awesome bucks, skimming the area just outa bow range... Some times the deer win's... On lease's several times the deer won, little old strand of barbed wire... used my kayak on several deer hunts at OSBWMA, banks are steap, & at WOWMA... Also on hog hunts river up, used my jon boat, hog hunts, it's never failed, knowing the high area's... Have seen several deer here during archery, with nice buck several times just outa range... Snow hit, cooled things down, but it's gone today... Best wish's... Keep your head held high & your powder dry...

Been quiet so far today. I should probably just pack up. Dang coyote just ran right through what I have been thinking was the bedding area.... deer blew and squirrels barked for 5 minutes. Hopefully they did not all head to the next county.

was sitting just off the side of a scrape last night, twas windy, deer might have seen me hunter orange vest, (other hunts going on) waving in wind on branch had hung on... took it bnb off & was not thinking... Some times the deer win... Years back on an archery hunt... got ready pack up, had bad habit of looking around good b4 climbing down & then take arrow with field tip, & pick out a leave, make sure bow was on... Any ways didn't see the doe at edge of thicker area & it seen me flinging the arrow, stomped & blew... Best wish's on next hunt...
