We had nearly 3" iof rain yesterday. How much rain does it usually take until you fertilize again. Planted and fertilized last friday. Thanks

I always work my ground, put out 200 lbs to the acre of a balanced fertilizer, drag and level with a harrow, then drill my seed in. Thats the only fertilizing I do. 3" of rain, is a bunch, might even wash some away, it would on my place. I got 1" of rain on Tuesday and that should settle the ground and get the seed started to germinate, and get the fertilizer mostly settled also.

I only fertilize one time when planting and have never had a problem. However, I know of some that don't fertilize until it starts to come up. "Top Dressing" is what I believe they call it.

I did not fertilize before I planted this year since it was so dry. I planted early last week and finally got .58" of rain on my plots. They will come up but it will take a good rain to keep them growing. I will still wait on putting out fertilizer till after I get a 1.5" rain or I am 100% sure I will get enough to gamble on putting out fertilizer right before a rain. Some years I split my fertilizer and put out some pre-plant and then the rest later on in Dec to early Jan.

Will good for my pea patch

I had from 1.45" to 1.75" last night into early morning today. Biggest one day total since April 7th this year. Much needed on my oats/peas since they just started coming up on Monday after .58" last week on Monday. Going to be really green in 7-10 more days here.

Only got .2" last night. There was no evidence of that at daylight as the wind dried it up. Horrible year.

Thanks, Billy

Finally getting rain, it has been getting with it for near an hour now so the food plots should be saved!

I keep seeing rain in the forecast and as the forecast nears... the rain chances drop. Bad luck this year for rain.
Literally watched the weather radar at my place during the past few fronts - aggravating to see the rain come down hard north and south of my property - but not on my property. Checking the rainfall totals... my neighbor to the north literally got double the amount of rain during the last downpour. Oof.
