First time I’ve ever shot a limit of ducks and geese in the same morning. Amazing solo hunt today on public land, quadrupled on the first flock of geese this morning, a quick 6 ducks and then waitied around till about 9 for my last goose.

Outstanding! Road trip bird hunts north are so much fun. And so much more fun than DFW competition hunting.

Congrats. We've decided to take a road trip to Kansas this year. If you can't beat 'em join 'em.

He's in Wyoming. Like his last post said. Don’t start getting snippy with me ducknbass! Don't tell I was trying to help. Old buddy if mine lived in Wyoming for a few years. They could should seven mallards. He did when it got cold.

you have posted these the last few years, seen you develop as a hunter and the pup too. Like previous years........ chase the upland birds up there too. You can always kill ducks/geese in TX.

Great job, and nice pics. Erichugh22, why does your dog have an orange collar while waterfowling? I guess you have found it doesn't spook the birds, but curious as to purpose.

She’s just always had an orange collar, and birds have never seemed to care Early season uneducated birds don’t care, but educated skittish birds in high pressure areas, getting birds to decoy is challenge, and when they are flaring, you start trying different things to figure out why they are flaring, and that orange collar would be the first to go for me. I have had to completely cover up my dog in burlap before, many times... I have watched birds from a distance work an area and scared to land and there’s not even a hunter there, but they are looking for anything that is not right.

And one more stellar morning, tomorrow’s my last day here, hopefully I’ll finish it off with one more good hunt before heading back to Texas
