Either missing the 'Whetter' on that side or the 'Cutter' grew at an angle such that it didn't/couldn't make contact with the Whetter.
The two are supposed to 'mesh' together and 'wear' the teeth. This keeps the 'cutter' sharp...but also controls it length IF the hog actively 'grinds' the two.
Barr hogs (castrated Males) lacking as much testosterone...often lead a more sedentary life and don't 'grind' their teeth as much as intact boars. So...often times they will have longer (sometimes curled) cutters.
Cutters that curl or grow back into the mandible is something more common in domestic hogs though...than wild/feral hogs.
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

I'm imagining the scene from Castaway when he knocks his own tooth out with an ice skate.

Saw one in an Australian hunting mag when I was down there in 1999 that had "cutters" very long like 10+ inches. Hog did not have whetters. Crazy looking teeth, was surptised they were not broken but they grew back along the skull

I have seen that before, my cousin shot this one about 10 years ago at our lease at the time near Realitos. It had a huge body but he was pretty skinny.
