I stopped by my new Popeyes today and got four of their Tuesday specials, which includes a drumstick and a thigh for a dollar. I asked about their chicken sandwich but they didn't have them. I had a spicy drumstick and thigh for lunch. I've done it often in the past. The skin was nice and crispy. The seasoning was to perfection. But............
I think I've lost my preference for bone-in chicken. I plan to stick with boneless, skinless chicken breast in the future. Thoughts?

I always preferred the drumsticks and thighs in the past. I ate mine like Gus in Lonesome dove. They went on a little picknic un in Nebraska. Gus bit off the joints and sucked the marrow. Guess I got spoiled on chicken nuggets etc.

yep, thigh for me too. I got hooked working in CA for a couple of years and Popeye's Tuesday night special was my typical stop on Tuesdays. 2 piece dark meat with one side, I'd order 2 of those with mashed potatoes and gravy and a Family size red beans and rice ... was dinner for two days.

Favorite pieces of fried chicken are wings and legs.
If bbq'd and have time to cook it down and get some of the grease out I like thighs, but fried they are just greasy to me.

I always bought whole fryers when I first got married. Made two meals for my wife and me. I take the wing, drumstick, and thigh. She got the breast. My preferences changed over the years. It's the same way with rib eyes and pork chops. Boneless. Remember the full cut bone in round steaks?

I prefer bone in, thigh is my favorite piece. But I will eat it all. 100% same here. I'm a bone-in guy. Popeye's strips aren't very good, IMO.

Couple years ago for Easter my parents gave my kids some baby chicks. Fed them for 6 weeks, then killed scalded plucked cut into breast wing thigh and drumstick and fried. They were awesome and my little boy helped had fun and ate a good chicken dinner.

Boneless is ok. Skinless is asinine. The skin is the best part of fowl, period.

If the meat is actually a real piece of meat, I'm okay with boneless. If it's formed from chicken slurry, like most nuggets are, no thanks. See what a thousand pound bag of chicken slurry looks like all spilled out on a hot day an you will lose the desire for it too.

Boneless for me, except for wings. Then I go with the bone-in. I can feast on some popeyes though.

Chicken breast is not for me unless brined and stuffed, wrapped in bacon and smoked. That’s a favorite. It’s just tasteless otherwise. I will eat wings and dark meat.
