Hard to say from those pics, but maybe even 8 1/2 Hoping to get daytime pics but also hoping that the time he shows in daylight, that I will be in the blind. He does have a better rack than the younger buck, which I had under the feeder last Sunday morning and I drew on him twice and I never got the shot that I wanted. Looking back on it now, glad that I didn't since I pulled cards after the morning hunt and this guys was on one of them.

I was thinking really old, I believe I have one pic where he is right in front of the camera and you can see his face really well, I'll see if I can find it. If he is upwards of 8 yo, I can only imagine what his antlers may have looked like at 6 1/2.

If he is upwards of 8 yo, I can only imagine what his antlers may have looked like at 6 1/2. Some bucks get better at 9 yrs of age due to the fact they quit rutting and only eat. There are several things I noticed in the pictures of him that make him look really old to me. I would not be surprised if his teeth are really worn to tell how old he is. May have to pull some front teeth to send in for age on him.

I've never seen a 7+yr old in that good of shape however, I don't think I've ever seen a 9yr old in the wild. Typically where I'm at once they get over 7 they drastically change in the body and don't carry much bulk at all.

I am bow hunting until the end of archery season and then I will pick up my rifle until ML season starts. I am in a AR county and this would be a good buck to take. The next best buck that I have is even younger but is a beast body wise and has a pretty darn good set of antlers. I do have one buck that needs to be culled and it is a 4 point that is about 17-18" wide with two big crab claws and no brow tines. I was in awe of him when I saw him on the card the first time. But of coarse, I only got this lease the weekend before archery season opened, so there may a lot more for me to see yet.

This is the other buck that I was thinking about shooting. This is the younger buck that is allowing the much older buck to hang around with him.

This would be what appears to be the oldest buck that I have ever seen !!!!

That buck would make a very nice mount with that cape! My thoughts exactly !!!! This will be my number one priority for this season, I want to harvest this animal and honor it by hanging it on my wall. Guessing that he is at the top end of your age guess. This is a incredible looking animal and I am excited to see him in person.

Anyone have a guess as to score on this old guy ??? I know it won't be tremendous he will make a wonderful mount if I get a chance at him. The nighttime pics didn't really show the mass but man, I like what I see in the daytime.

OP’s deer is a “in great shape” past prime 8+ Below is a 7.5 (non protein feed) via cementum annuli. Scored 121 or 122. He actually improved body condition wise over 6.5

There is another buck on the other side of the fence he actually fought about a minute after I took pic. He is postured big time, why he looks so brute. Below is regular non postured I hope you get that buck Booner, when you factor in average life span of a wild WT, that buck is a Man among Men. Good luck. I love hunting the ancients

Man do I like that line. Could be used in sports and other areas of life. Is that as old line and ive just been under a rock???

Really hoping that it ends the way that I picture it but this old "Monarch" didn't get this old by accident. My only wish is that I had some sort of history with this magnificent creature. Unfortunately I do not having only gotten this place the weekend before the opening weekend of archery season and having made the best decision possible with the knowledge that I have about hunting and animal habitat and behavior, has crossed our paths with each other. If i am fortunate enough to harvest this beautiful animal, he will surely be immortalized by the finest taxidermist that I know. I will keep you updated as the season progresses.
