It was interesting for the parts I watched while my wife was watching. I didn't understand why he gave Rosanne Cash and Emmy Lou Harris so much screen time. Then he just gives 90 seconds to George Strait.

Go watch the ENTIRE series, not just bits and pieces. You will see a lot more about George.

I think that the “screen time” narrators were chosen more based on their historical and/or first hand knowledge of events and people than their own musical prowess.

That said, one of the few knitpicks I had was it did at times seem like the “Johnny Cash Documentary”.

The Carter family had a huge influence on country music.
