My dad could see a screwdriver 200 yards away doing 70.
He would stop on I35 in downtown Dallas to pick it up too!

I find nothing.

I'll wreck my truck for a bungee cord! Hardly ever find anything of value.

Thanks for picking that up, I can't image hitting that thing doing 75MPH.

Best was probably a hard rifle case (empty). I've found quite a few hand tools and a few ratchet straps. It drives my wife nuts when I stop to pick things up.

That reminds me of a trip that my FIL did. He left Ruidoso NM one morning in an RV. He was almost in Kerrville, TX when he got a call from the Roswell PD about his tow car parked out in a guys field. That trip back had to suck.

Not near as much since they striped and put reflectors down in my hilly, curvy neighborhood, but

German-made limb loppers
Moremaker single blade knife
Maglite
iPhone (not the latest and the lady wouldn't return two messages). 'Gave it to a Zim PH.
A couple of shovels.
A few screw drivers and a good pair of electrical pliers, perfect for working on feeders.

You've inspired me to get back out there walkin' and lookin'. up

Heavy duty Dolly in the middle of the road with a lot of duct tape on it and some writing I could not decipher, ran a lost and found add on FB and Craigslist few calls but the peeps could not describe it.

Nice commercial gas blower and gas can, saw a landscape pickup truck with trailer cross the street right before that, picked them up and tracked down the crew and the owner gave me a $20.00 for returning it.
Saw a good size chain in the middle of I 20 many years ago but no way was I going to dodge traffic for it.

I've picked up a nice aluminum extension ladder, several heavy duty ratchet straps, a few chains and one of those expensive bungee style tow straps. Also have a decent collection of gas cans. A few weeks ago I picked up one of the old school gas cans that still have the vent hole. That was a decent score.

I noticed a nice folding ladder on the side of 35 near Georgetown one day. Stopped to get it and next to it in the tall grass was a nice 20' aluminum extension ladder. I scored on both ladders that day. it was hell getting that ext ladder home in my shortbed pickup but I made it happen. I use that ladder at least once a week now.

That's hilarious. I'm surprised the car was trashed after coming loose.

Let’s see
A 40lb recovery tank for refrigerant it’s on the work truck
A nice Kline crescent wrench on a FM rd, I knew what it was when I saw the handle
A chain
A Craftsman socket wrench
Lots of bags of flex duct that are in the garage and about to make their way to the shop at work
As a kid $300-$400 in a bank envelope with no withdrawal info or anything while picking up cans on the side of the road to to make money for scout camp.
Late teens early 20’ $900 in a parking lot, I decide I didn’t need to buy anything and went home.
I’m sure there are a couple more that don’t come to mine.

First time I ever saw an Armadillo I thought it was dead. Stopped to check it out. It wasn't dead. Scared the crap outta me.

I've never found anything.

But a man wearing a uniform driving a car with red, white and blue flashing lights made me dump out beer on the side of the road. Dude totally harshed my buzz.
