It’s been awhile since I found anything good on the road

Found this about 30 min ago

What’s your best find?

I found a T-post driver once. I should have left it. LOL

A small, Stihl chainsaw. I’m always on the lookout. I also found a good chain, once, and a short folding ladder. Usually it’s things like five gallon buckets, but I’ll take all I can find.

Almost 50 years ago, a case pf Holsum bread. Saw the case sitting on the side of the road between Rowena and Miles. It was still warm from the bakery. We ate some, the rest was fed to the hogs. One morning I went out to get the newspaper and I found nice fiberglass ladder on the street in front of our house, I put it in the front yard, after a week nobody had stole it so I put it in the garage.

I found a pair of Ray Bans in the case a few weeks ago on the side of the road while I was walking.

Both of my fiberglass ladders
Two chains
3ft long screwdriver that I use as a pry bar
Pocket knife
100ft air hose
A new lid for my ice chest, I lost mine down around Mission somewhere.
An Echo weedeater. It wasn't even broken. I gave it to my helper, he still uses it.

Lost not found. Several years my Uncle lost an M-1 carbine between Waco and Dallas. Not trying to hi-jack.

By the time I realize what it is, I'm too far away to go get it! Not getting run over for a freebie. When I worked for TXDOT, a guy I rode with could spot a wrench in a clump of grass at 55mph!

An unopened case of Miller Genuine Draft in bottles. Another time a good spare tire, wheel and hub that fit my cow trailer perfectly. I saw it as it came off the guy in front of me. It rolled along beside his trailer for a couple hundred yards then into the ditch and cuddled up against a fence. The guy with the trailer just kept rolling.

I saw an Echo weed eater slide out of the back of a truck go 70 mph. It slid down the road and did not hurt it at all. The truck sped on and I never saw it after stopping to pick it up.

So this guy down the road cuts all the grass in the medians and sides of the hwy here and bales it. Well, his pasture looks like a garbage dump, I actually saw cows with plastic bags coming out of their rear ends. So I stop and tell him I could get a group of people together to clean up the ditches before he cuts so he won't have his cows eating all that garbage. He just looks at me kind of sideways and says that would defeat the whole reason he does it, he gets all kinds of free stuff like drills etc... I'm thinking this guy is pretty smart, kill your cows for some wore out 12v Makita cordless drill....hmmm.

Find tools and meters all the time on lease roads. Haven’t had to buy any new tools in years.

A heavy duty moving dolly, an aluminum scoop shovel, an Echo backpack blower, countless spare tires, etc.

I'm always highway shopping....

Only thing I've found of any value was a Makita Hammer drill.
