This game always gives more than the rankings or teams should give, I expect OU to win, but would have definitely said OU would win last year too.
The question is what do we know of either team? What do we know of any college team at this point? The big teams have played quite mediocre competition, and the UT/LSU game has been the most hyped game other than GA/ND and what a snooze fest that was (still not sure how good ND or GA are).
But LSU has given up more points to Vanderbilt than UT, so we know the UT offense is decent but not great, and their defense is suspect at best.
OU has played absolutely no one. This will be their on;y test all season. So is the continuation of Jalen Hurts' heisman prospects enough to win or will Herman and the longhorn defense have some wrinkles to make OU think a little?

I expect a closer game than most think. I expect OU to win. I would not be surprised if OU blows UT out, but I would be shocked if UT can upset OU.
Gonna be a fun game to watch/listne to. But I don't expect it to have any bearing on the playoff picture as another loss to UT makes them a solid top 20-25 team but they are not a top 10 team and no one really thinks they will end the season there. A single loss for OU to their rival will not hurt their playoff chances. We've seen that before. So the reality is, this game means a lot to a lot of people in the local texas/OK area, but it means nothing to anyone of national importance.

Nope, still fight our way up. Sadly this is the worst D Texas has had in a long while. Very talented, but very green. Watching that secondary is like watching a rollercoaster. Lots of ups and downs.
