SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday signed a law that will make the state the first to allow employers, co-workers and teachers to seek gun violence restraining orders against other people.

The bill was vetoed twice by former governor Jerry Brown, a Democrat, and goes beyond a measure that he signed allowing only law enforcement officers and immediate family members to ask judges to temporarily take away peoples' guns when they are deemed a danger to themselves or others.

They were among 15 gun-related laws Newsom approved as the state strengthens what the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence calls the nation's toughest restrictions.

Due process doesn't mean much any more.

Crazy times we are living in. As Liberalism spreads, everything that a Country Boy holds dear is threatened. Guns, hunting, fishing, ATV'S and Classic Cars (Environmental Issues). We will soon be governed by whatever the Coastal Elitists think is proper.

You did what?

Crazy really is not a strong enough word.

Absolutely nothing is improved with negativity!

The right to an opinion gives absolutely no validity to that opinion.

The governor of California is a busy man. I see almost every day that he has signed some bill into law. Yesterday it was a bill to ban selling anything made with animal fur.

He makes Jerry Brown look like a right-winger.

It's already happening here, Did you see how close Beto got to be elected our U.S. Senator? The Democrats will slowly turn Texas blue and we'll get exactly what California has. It's just a matter of time as long as voting Democrat is an acceptable option for citizens.

At the current rate of liberal migration to Texas, we'll be a blue state in 5 - 10 years.

I’m afraid it’s going to be sooner than that

A couple from San Jose wandered into my little community band a few weeks ago. She's an immigration attorney and he works at the Amazon distribution center in New Braunfels. Their both frickin' nuts. I won't get into the Machiavellian crap they both pull, but dude...that dumb-arse hat you wear doesn't make you a jazz player. (And his playing proves it.) I'm out, bolt

Apparently the Bill of Rights does not apply in California.

Agree with you guys. We are losing Texas to liberalism.
