Kids need discipline.

I think many parents go easy on their kids because they are afraid they wont like them etc. I spank my children when necessary. It caused issues with my inlaws. They would continually undermine our discipline and it made things worse. One day I asked my FIL after a blow up with my 4 year old, what would have happened to you if you would have said/did that to your grandfather? From that day on discipline has been a united front and good behavior is off the charts. I do 99% of the discipline and my kids come to me before they do mommy.

Keep putting your head in the sand and we will be one of the shiathole countries.

Walter Cronkite was a fairly left leaning liberal-progressive for his / the time period (some folks would say radical), which doesn’t hold a candle to what we see today.

He had huge power at CBS, his bias wasn’t recognized so much in his words but by body language & facial expressions of disgust or disbelief reactions witnessed on Tv at almost anything considered conservative or republican 'speak', and, what stories & events he would cover for CBS and the slant he put on them.
CBS knowing he was their greatest draw / asset caved to his slant / bias consistently.

He supported gun control, one world government views of the day and tax increases for then considered far left social programs / entitlements.
He was a behind the scenes supporter, confidant and at times consultant of anti Viet Nam war and anti establishment (Republican / conservative) movements & protestors.
A supporter of Jimmy Carter & Bill Clinton especially in their 'troubled' times, a supporter, confidant & in the early going a mentor to John Kerry.

In my opinion, he was the grandfather of bias lean/slant/spin and 'show it' from my point of view or I'll find a network that will 'journalism'.
Someone that taught by example, poise, polish, calm demeanor and a certain tone voice could influence people and no matter how much BS you shoveled they would believe it if the right delivery methods were used.
