Any love for the Fury 5000 HD? I've only handled it shortly at Cabelas. Thanks.

I know their is a big price difference but I think you are best served with Zeiss, Leica or Swaro.

I didn’t like the original fury glass haven’t touched the HD.

One you might consider is GPO, haven’t used them but getting good marks in a similar price point.

Thanks Bobo. I did get a chance to look through a regular GPO HD bino and the glass is outstanding. That's probably a good idea. Seems to me it boils down to a couple of different scenarios. You can buy the one's with the best glass, get a good RF, and have a short warranty on the product, or you can buy a unit with good glass (not great), excellent RF capabilities, and forever warranty.

I have the original Fury and I’ve been extremely happy with them. So much so that I just can’t talk myself into upgrading.

Pretty much sums it up my experience also. The lack of a ergonomic 12x option across the board is trifling also.

Heard decent things about the Fury.

The Leica 2200 HD-B 10x42 can be grabbed for a helluva good deal with Doug at Cameraland NY. Open box was brand spaking new looking. Best RF binos I've ever used.

I hear you on the Leica's. My experience in buying those demos wasn't so great last year. They worked great when the temps weren't close to freezing, but when the temps got near 32* they wouldn't range past 250 yds. There was another guy on 24HCF that had the same problem so I got rid of them. I believe that was the 40034 model IIRC. Given the fact that Leica USA couldn't even get the warranty registration straight, and they quit answering emails, as I said I got rid of them. It's a shame though because I did like them otherwise.

I played with the Fury 5000 a little bit at shot show and was pretty impressed with them in the small area I was in. But I went to Bass Pro in Katy last week and they had one pair. I currently have a pair of Nikon Prostaff 7S and a Sig Kilo2000, so I had the fella set the Nikons out next to the Furys. The rangefinder seemed about the same speed as my Sig Kilo2000, but i wasn't sitting there with a stopwatch or anything. I wasn't impressed with the glass when i had them next to the Nikons. My Nikons are decent, but they are still only a $200 pair of binos. Setting them side by side and looking all the way across the building at some of the deer on the wall, i would almost say the nikons were a little bit clearer. Granted, i was inside the building, but was still looking a good distance away.

I bought a pair of Fury 5000’s a few weeks ago.

I’ve been very happy with them so far. Was going either vortex or Leica and I felt the vortex were clearer and faster to range.

Clearer glass than Leica Geovids? I thought the Fury glass was about like the Viper HD, at best, which means adequate at best.

These were the Leica Geovid R 10x42’s.

To me, the glass was clearer in the Fury HD 5000’s by a noticeable amount. But that’s just to my eye.

Honestly, I expected the quality on the Leicas to be better considering the price difference.

The Fury’s are a tad heavier however it felt like
