It doesn't look any healthier than the real thing to me.

https://www.bk.com/menu-item/impossible-whopper

It has 25g protein. However, it is loaded with plenty of the bad stuff, -- fat, sugar, carbs, sodium, etc. Is this thing supposed to be healthy, or just something to feed a vegetarian that is eating with meat eaters?

Expanding their marketing. Health isn't a consideration.

I think a whopper with cheese is the best tasting fast food burger.

I think McDonalds is the worst fast food out there. Id rather have a burger from anywhere else.

Standing at meat counter in HEB one day, picked up a package of plant based “ground beef substitute. Couldn’t pronounce a lot of the ingredients. Butcher said his gf liked it. I told him I’ll stick to the real thing. And let me have the prime ribeye in front on the top shelf please.

I have eaten quite a few impossible burger. I'm cholesterol restricted, so its a good substitute for me. Although, there will never be a true beef replacement that is equal to true animal fat/protien.

I disagree. BK is way worse than McDonalds. I actually like McDonalds, but it’s not even close to the worst out there. I enjoy a double quarter pounder with cheese from time to time.

I’m curious about something, if you don’t mind me asking.

Are you restricted from foods that contain cholesterol, or foods that may encourage it. (I don’t know if there’s a difference. If there is, I’d love to know that, as well.) And, who restricted you?

All of the replacement meat burgers are loaded with sodium.

All the fast food burgers are also loaded with sodium also. I’m on a sodium restricted diet, so that’s cut down on my fast food considerably. But if you order it pretty much stripped down, you can get a quarter lb. burger down to 450-500 mg of sodium. Lettuce, mustard and onions are the least sodium extras. Cut the cheese, ketchup and pickles.

They have to do something to mask the taste and preserve it from spoilage.

Eat more chicken. Just one burger per week for me. Tonight is burger night. Quarter pounder 85/15 with a slice of cheddar. Sorry Big Bob doesn't want me to show the picture.
