Hadn't shot a gun since the Hunters match in Feb. I had to un-mount and then re-mount my scope, so that's why zero was off. The low shot was cold bore, then I made a scope adjustment, and the rest is the next 5 shots. The one on the left is a pull by me (on the last shot of course - this is why I shoot 4-shot groups ). I was aiming at where the triangle meets the big red rectangle. Looks like cold bore shot would have been .1-.2 mils high (after adjustment my group was about that much low of POA), but other than that, pretty silly group for someone who is out of practice and ammo that's been loaded for 6 months. Based on recommendations on here, I did load the ammo long and seated the last .010" the day before to prevent effects of cold-welding. Funny thing is that they had just done a cease-fire and I really wanted to just go shoot on the 300-400, so I just asked the guy in the next bay if I could shoot one group on his target (rather than waiting 30 minutes for the next cease-fire) and he said that was fine. Was funny to see his reaction when he saw the group. He was shooting an AR and actually had some nice groups himself for a gas gun with a low-power optic, but I'm not sure he'd ever seen a good bolt gun with tuned ammo.

Do it again today. Let’s see if it’s a fluke or truly great shooting rifle. My Savage shot a group like that at 300 yards, I’ll likely never be able to do that again

Do it again today. Let’s see if it’s a fluke or truly great shooting rifle. My Savage shot a group like that at 300 yards, I’ll likely never be able to do that again I wish I had time to go to the range again. I'll test in 6 months again and we'll see if it holds up... In reality, I've shot this gun a bunch and it's always been reliable and extremely accurate. I just hadn't shot it in awhile and like it always does, it put a smile on my face as soon as I started pulling the trigger. I didn't measure this one because that last shot screwed it up from being really awesome. This gun is normally around .5". I've had a number of .2"-.3" groups on really good days, and it will open up to .75" on bad days and I've been known to really mess up a group and push it to 1", but that's more of my issue than the gun. Since I got this Delta Stryker scope with more mag and a better reticle, I haven't really had issues maintaining POA. I think reticle design is under-rated when it comes to being able to aim precisely. I had a Savage one time that shot a literal 1-hole group at 100 yards. 3 shots that looked like 1 shot on the paper. It was unreal. I posted it on here at some point but lost the picture. That gun was less consistent than this Tikka in its ability to group at .5-.75 or less, but it was also shooting factory ammo and that could have contributed to the consistency issue. ETA: if I have a .2-.3 group, it's almost always 4 shots. I don't risk ruining a group anymore for fear of a picture like this one, where it goes from .3 to .5 due to the last shot. Obviously not the gun's fault. If I have a .75 group, often I'll just keep shooting to see how many I can pile inside that 1" dot.

Damn fine shooting! Good load and a good rifle.
At one point I feel like I could do my part to produce that kind of result. For now im trying to work my way back to it.

I watched a lady shoot multiple groups like the one above this morning with the TC Compass that she bought from Cabela’s ..... impressed the heck out of me. Factory ammo too. She was practicing for deer season she said.
