I may get some backlash here but for Mexican food in Dallas, I like Javiers. Cool atmosphere, good drinks and the food is pretty decent IMO. For steak, our go to is Silver Fox.

Anywhere in the Dallas area, and price does not matter as long as its it's good food. Hell it could even be a hole in the wall kind of place. Just looking for good food.

Mexican -Desperados. There's one on Greenville, and one in Richardson.
Sushi - Ra Sushi bar
Casual seafood - Aw Shucks or Fish Shack
Steak - La Hacienda Ranch - get the Mesquite grilled ribeye mexican style. You can thank me later.
Cajun - Nate's

Several have mentioned Del Friscos. I was not impressed.

Another Option, if you are staying on the east side of Dallas, Southern Junction in Rockwall. Steakhouse and Honkey tonk in one.

Try Javier's Gourmet Mexican on Cole Ave.
Javier is an avid hunter and a great guy. Your wife will like the atmosphere and service and the food.

The food is more Mexico City, not Tex Mex, which means center cut Choice tenderloin steaks, sea bass and quail.
I recommend the Filete Pimiento, Quail (ask for birthday sauce) and the top shelf margarita.


You will come back.

There is good food everywhere in Dallas.

Uncle Julios, Papadeaux, Bob's Chop House, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Eddie V's, Capital Grille, Knife Dallas, Nick & Sam's, Rex's Seafood....could go on and on.

Those aren't hole in the wall places.

There's a million hole in the wall places - especially great Tex-Mex. El Taquito is one I enjoyed growing up but haven't been there in probably a decade.

Maple and motor if you like a good burger, although I still like the atmosphere at Keller's better.
