So effectively I’ll have to open the door, get inside the shed with them with a light on them and spray them without spooking them or getting stung in pitch black.

I’ll look for those pest strips and put them up all over above the door. I’ve tried soapy water in my 5 gallon sprayer to knock them out of the air and stomp on them but it’s not very effective. I’ll try the gasoline as well. Does it kill them like the wasp spray does?

Haven’t you ever spotlighted at night? Light em up and they can’t see ya!

Never spotlighted before because I’m not a poacher like you, but I used to go frog gigging all the time and killed many of your brethren. Love me some frog legs. Lol

The red ones seem more aggressive than the yellows. I was standing on my porch one day doing nothing. Happened to look up and there was a red wasp on the ceiling about 4 foot away. I guess he did not like the way I was looking at him. He made a bee line for my forehead and popped me! WHAT THE HECK!!!

After you pull down a nest destroy it because they will keep hatching.

I use WD40 or that cheap stuff from Walmart.....safer than gas and cheaper than the wasp killer.

If you can catch them on a rainy day they don't want to fly.

I have usually found it's the ones you don't see that get you!

I think the ones hatching from the nest are coming back. I didn’t think they’d have a clue where they came from but I guess I was wrong because I’ve killed a bunch of them and every time I open the door it’s like they have all come back from the dead.

Demon takes a minute on wasps but it does work.

Every time I use that stuff though, I feel funny so I quit using it so much.

Walmart has them too.

Home Depot, Lowes, Ace before ever going in a Walmart. I Amazon prime stuff I need. Cheaper than the store actually.

I agree, nighttime is most productive. We have some cool nights coming. They will be less active in cooler weather.

My experience....

Cheap wasp spray is ineffective. Foaming wasp spray is a slow kill and makes them confused and aggressive before they die.
Brake cleaner is more effective for close quarters. Cheap works fine.Like gasoline, it has it's hazards.

I’ve used them for years in trailers, and deer stands and sheds and they work very well.

Dish soap and water. Splash it on the nest at night or do it a few times during the day to make sure you get them all. Kills wasps in seconds by suffocating them, or something similar. I had some in my grill in a hard to reach spot. Splashed a big cup of water with dish soap up into the crevice and never got stung. They died before they had a chance to fly.

Did you light it? My folks bought a place in '68 south of Fbg. that had a lot of ancient out buildings and an old barn. Some of the red wasp nests were 2, 2&1/2 feet wide. We made torches on long poles. Man it was fun. To this day though, I never enter a dark, old structure without looking up and all around almost instinctively.

I do have one of these bad boys I use for when I need to burn wood for wood working projects. Afraid I might set the shed on fire though.
