I hunted with Sagebrush hunts this week and had a great time . I just shopped for the first morning thinking that I did not want to use the tag the first day but we saw some good bucks . I also realized this was not going to be easy . These animals are fast and wary .
We went out in the afternoon and tried to keep up with a group of 17 with 3 very nice bucks but after about an hour they jumped into the state grass lands . We sat for an hour waiting to see if they would jump back over then we noticed another group had come in behind us .
In that group there were another 3 good bucks . We watched with the air being real thick with fog and a light rain at 480 yards and I saw a very good one . I said I would like to take a shot at it and the first one missed .The back moved out to 500 yards and turned broadside so I let another one ripe and my elevation was right but I misjudged the wind and it was a solid hit to the neck and he spoon around and did not go down . I shot 2 more times and he went down but would keep lifting his head up still alive . It ended up I had to walk up and put a pistol round in it to put him down .
It was a great hunt with great people . I was partnered up with a forum member from Allen and he was real fun and knowable to hunt with . My guide was Jeremy's brother Jared and he was fun to hunt with and knew his stuff . Lodging was wonderful but the best part was meals prepared by Jeremy's wife . Great food and plenty of it .
I would suggest if you are looking for Pronghorn hunt these are the best you can get .
I would appreciate anyone that I could text a picture to post for me . Please PM me .Good hunting to all .
