Really? I know a certain gang documented gang member in dallas that has received 2 different 3 year murder sentences 3, 6 years apart. Both of his were crime related murders, but I guess since it wasn’t racially/politically driven, they weren’t important enough to justify more prison time.

Oh, and last time I arrested him was for guns, drugs, and compelling prostitution. That was 2009, he’s was released in 2015

Funny thing I have observed over the years, the courts tend to let career criminals slide with small sentences, but if a good hard working person screws up they get the book thrown at them. It's a racket.

The people screaming and cursing in front of cameras on the court house are idiots, as are the people claiming the family and judge are basically uncle toms for forgiving her. Despicable.

Looked pretty sincere to me. His feeling may change as he gets older but that looked pretty much from the heart to me.

As forum we should pray that he is not ostracized, ridiculed, and made out to be a traitor by his community for showing compassion for this woman....And for the record l think 10 years is fair. Your son, your wife, your daughter, your mother, your father, your brother in their home no weapon, will you all still say, honest or stupid mistake! In the military we worked days on in without adequate sleep, but you had better remember the rules of engagement training under pressure or else you are at the mercy of the military judicial system which by the way is far more stringent than the civilian court system.Just like other professionals in their fields of speciality, LEO should be held to a higher standard! I tip my hat to the law enforcement community as you have an extremely difficult job, but training has to be adhered to, just like in the military community.

We can all learn something from the young Mr. Jeans selflessness!

She’s a police officer going to prison.....10 years or 10 months... not sure it matters. I hope she can stay safe.
