Here in a bout 3 hours, I’m gonna go home, grab my bow and my pack and go sit in the hot box for a few hours.

Was trying to get ahold of a reefer truck that can be idling at the gate in case I get something.


Down to the last 4 lbs of deer meat so I need a kill

I put an arrow thru a turkey this morning and going to cook part of it tonight.

I wish I could make myself do that. I am sitting here and have totally pi$$ed away half a day; I have complete flexibility to leave and go do something else, anything else...like go hunt. Do I do it? No!
Instead I just sit here looking at THF farting the day away. ugh.

Me too!! I have the truck packed, and an hour and 45 min drive. I am waiting on one email for work, and as soon as I get that, and forward it on...I'm out of here!

Im gonna go home and pick up my garage. Little boys birthday bash this weekend. He's 5 and im old.

Good luck. I hunted this last weekend. Good thing I was in a tree stand. Not sure I could have hunted in a blind.

I went Monday afternoon and sweat my everlovin rear off but...I sat and watched the woods in total silence for about three hours! I filmed an armadillo doing his thing under my stand which was hilarious, listened to the hogs squealing in the creek close by, and stalked to within 20 yards of a couple of fat does. I did not shoot, we are saving the does for family who have never killed a deer. I also had a silent, still staring contest with a young doe at 40 yds that seemed like an eternity before she finally gave up and put her head down. Anyway, I walked to the truck rejuvenated and forgot all about how hot it was! Time in the woods or on the water = the best kind of mind clearing therapy!!

There’s a few individuals on here that can probably arrange for a truck full of reefer to be parked at your gate...

I have just sucked it up and gone and hunted the last four days, hot as heck but I am seeing some doe and a couple of hogs. I would go hunt this evening but it is my wife's birthday.

I am heading to the stand in about 1 hr. Luckily my box blind is in the shade about now and facing SE for some wind. Not much has been moving yesterday evening and this morning. Trail Cams had very few pics at all in the feed pens. My guess is the high winds the last 2 days got a few more acorns on the ground.

I’m here now...feeder goes off in 20 min.

I’m hoping for either a dry doe or a mature 8 point with a small rack we all passed on last year that I’ve seen on camera a few times

It’s a tad warm....I’m sitting in a old pop up that’s on its last leg. Plenty of holes in it, but it’s well ventilated

I sat last Sat. afternoon/evening and decided I'd wait for some type of cool front to push thru before I attempted the afternoon again.

It’s not unbearable. Not super pleasant but beats sitting at home.

I like October bow season.

What I have yet to get used to is the lack of sightings due to acorns.

In south Texas during October we were loaded up with deer and bucks were easy to pattern

I've been here for about 30 minutes. Feeder just went off. The breeze is nice. Not as hot as I had expected.

Just had a deer blow at me from off to my left.

I had checked the wind prior to me getting in the stand and everything looked good.
