Saturday morning - Had a small 4pt, let walk. Nothing much else until I was about to call it quits, then 2 mature doe came out, but not in range. Kept in the treeline. I decided it was getting late and would take a doe. After I watched them walk off, 20 minutes later I was going to go around the down the back and around the hill because I feel like I knew where they were going. But got busted by a doe I didn't know was there....OOPS. Oh well, I was really done for the morning anyway.

Went out again Sunday afternoon. Same 4pt. Then a bunch of yearling does. 7-8 of them. All small yearlings. At one point I had 6 of them all within bow range hanging out eating. It got dark, I left.

The question: With one small buck, and several small doe - should I abandon this place until rut? Surely all these small doe will bring in some boys!?

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Cooler temps in the future will help. I never see a lot during early bow season but that doesn't mean I'm not going to be there.
