Okay, you folks told me what I already knew. Cant put one down if 'm not in the stand. So, with that being said, I'm trying to decide where to hunt with my recent discovery. I set up a feeder on a dry creek bed, very wooded, some acorns....only to have neighbors cattle crush said feeder and all corn is almost gone. So here is the million dollar question, knowing there is no good answer. Do I hunt the creek bed w/ hand thrown corn and some acorns, or do i hunt a feeder that is working properly in the middle of a pasture full of mesquites and cedars? I know we all deal with these "where to go" questions and there is never a guarantee at any, but thought I'd take a vote and go where majority votes for.

Thanks!!!

The one that has the most fresh deer sign at it and the most evening activity. As hot as it is right now I would also lean towards the one closest to or on a trail close to water.

Saw deer movement all morning mostly smaller bucks does and fawns.
Looks like we had a decent fawn crop this spring probably because of all the rain and tall weeds that saved them from the coyotes.
If you've got acorns take advantage of them over corn. I had corn out but they were all under the trees.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I think that I would be in the creek bottom as close as you can get to an oak tree that was dropping acorns! As stated above, keep the wind in your favor and be patient. You will be cooler because you are in the shade and right now, the deer will choose acorns over corn most times!
