We found out Sunday morning when looking at my video that a good friend of ours was the engineer for the Cheyenne to Rawlins part of the run. Sure wish I would have remembered he told me that, he would have had something in his pocket for the trip, a keepsake for our son.

My grandfather was a conductor for the Illinois Central railroad.. When I was a kid, he would take me to work with him. We went from Memphis to Cairo, Ill. lay over, then back to Memphis. A Steam engine pulled us to Cairo and diesel pulled us back, usually the Panama Ltd, a Streamliner. Wonderful memories.

Are there any plans to recreate the Crash at Crush?

That was crazy. Seems like it's on old video. Nobody expected the catastrophe that ensued.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.

Silver spurs and gold tequila
keep me hanging on.
Pretty girls and old cantinas
give me shelter from the storm.

Hey folks, Big Boy is coming to Texas.
The 4014 will be making a trek across the Western and southern US and Texas is on the list.
I would make plans to see it if you can.

Nice. We had replicas of the Nina and the Pinta visit Huntsville last month. As well as a LST that was used on D-Day.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

That is awesomeness..

Funny thing about getting older:
Your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to
see through people's BS gets much better.
