She better hope the sexually explicit texts and messages she was sending to her PD boyfriend minutes before the shooting are deemed inadmissible,. Prosecution is attempting to introduce it as a view into her state of mind just prior to shooting. Being horny would make you want to shoot someone?

And apparently her partner declined the booty call, which would put her frame of mind somewhere mistake of fact wouldn’t be an excuse, whereas exhaustion from work would leave mistake of fact on the table, possibly. From what I’m interpreting from the media, so it’s taken with a grain of salt.

Tragic mistake, but that mistake cost a man his life. She might have been the best cop on the force, but that really has no bearing on the circumstances of the incident. She was tired, she was on a long shift and probably wasn't 100% mentally or physically, but again that doesn't excuse the action.
I doubt murder will stick, manslaughter is likely and will get her a few years behind bars. Tragic for both the cop and the victim.
This cannot be fixed at the voting booth.. Wake Up You Morons!

A good lawyer could make the “mistake in fact” defense hold up with the right jury. The more likely outcome is manslaughter. I doubt the jury pool will be favorable to her.
Will be interesting to watch.

She will get murder or manslaughter, based on quote below I pulled from a NY Times article this morning. I think she gets manslaughter, but details of the case could make it go either way.
