He needs a scent control trophy at the very least.

Wow, I have had a cow and spike close enough I could have touched them, but they were running by after the big bull of that group started his death stumble

I've had a lot of really close encounters like this...well, nothing quite like this, but close. My son reached out and touched a turkey hen once. I had a spike buck about 3 feet from me once, and I had a covey of quail just about walk over my feet. It's all the things that happen leading up to taking your game that makes hunting as much fun as it is.

I've had young elk at distances you could feel their breath and could have touched their noses. Good camo and scent control work wonders. We use scent killer spray and natural elk pee dirt for cover scent. Had my bow killed moose at arms length and that was way too close !

I watched a hunting show done in NM about 10 yrs ago where the hunters was standing at full draw behind a tree with his bow to the leftside and the bull came to his right and bumped his right elbow while at full draw. He stood there and sniffed the arm then jumped a couple of yards to the side and the hunter was able to swing around the tree and shoot him at 3 or 4 yards IIRC.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Yep way cool encounter!
Long time ago I shot a big doe, while I was field dressing it on the ground I sensed something weird? Turn around and there is a young 6 point about 15 yards behind me coming at me at a pretty good clip with its head down making a Bee line for us.
I jumped up with knife in hand yelling at it and it ran back into the woodline. I continue cleaning the doe and the hair on my neck rose again, sure enough the 6 was sneaking up on me again, this time I ran at it yelling until I thought it was gone.
Well my buddy Leland and wife Deb pull up in the suburban radio blaring and I am telling them about his love sick 6 point episode and sure enough he shows back up in the field about 60 yards away pacing back and forth staring and wanting to get to the doe which was obviously in heat, after about 5 or 6 minutes it finally left.
