I have a question. This passed weekend I found a trail that's about wide enough for an ATV. It looks like it hasn't been used in quite some time and is in a portion of the forest that doesn't allow motor vehicles of any kind. It's not any any maps I can find and there is nothing marking it as a designated trail. There is a ton of deer sign on one portion I would like to hunt. Is that within the rules? I know you can't hunt close to a designated trail or campsite. But, I cant see where it's been designated as a trail anywhere. It's pretty far back into the forest and in some spots wouldn't even be possible to pass due to creeks.

Sounds like you found your self a nice little set up. I'd call the office at the park to describe where you are talking about as they know more about that ground than anyone here (well unless you found someone's secret spot).

If it's not near a designated trail, campsite, or property border, you're good to go.

On several of the WMA"s that hunted. The officials (people running place & GW) were pretty easy going... 99.9% of hunters are thar for one thing hunting...
At OSBWMA they have the designated parking area's often used some of the old ATV trail heads ta park, just didnt go beyond thar sign's & never had a problem.
Unit #'er 120, (hasnt been in booklet for several years) had parked my truck up over little incline at old trail head. Water was standing were usualy would park.
Didnt want ta tear up in case go stuck by letting it sit while hunting... Came back ta truck it did have a note saying not ta park thar. No ticket...
Think the realize ya back packing things in & out, most are reasonable... Just Respect place...
